In 2002, I eagerly took a 3 credit Yoga class in community college. I deeply appreciated this class, as I was introduced to basic yoga poses and was educated on the history of Yoga. For a few years afterward, I became distracted by a series of events in my life which diverted me me from my practice. Yet in 2009, I began to come back to myself by cultivating my own private asana practice, which mostly included daily 20-60 minute practices with Shiva Rea DVDs! Although I had taken a few workshops with Shiva Rea when she was teaching in a town nearby, I hadn’t taken regular classes in studios until I moved to Asheville.
Ever since I took the 250 hour program at Asheville Community Yoga, Yoga has become an essential part of my life every Moment. I live in Bliss!
As a massage and bodywork therapist of over 10 years, I have great interest in the skeletal, musculature, and energetic anatomies of the body. It fascinates me how the body operates and I strive to learn the many way to assist others toward his or her path toward optimal health. I consistently take classes with a variety of teachers, as well as receive some form of bodywork weekly by different practitioners in order to better care for myself so I can proficiently help others. Education and self-care are two things I take very seriously and I love sharing what I have experienced and learned.
Warm Vinyasa Flow (L1 & 2)
Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:15 pm
This class is dedicated to Centering the body in alignment with the Earth, holding poses to develop strength, and flowing in the practice with the breath.
We begin in meditation before movement and usually incorporate breathing exercises right before Shavasana.
Every class is different as every day is different…so be prepared to dance to the song the day brings!
