“Yoga found me.”
Sylvia took the 250 hour yoga teacher training at Asheville Community Yoga after practicing yoga for four years. The motive was to learn more and understand more about yoga. What she did not expect was to be gently challenged and shaken out of old patterns, nor did she expect to acquire a passion for teaching. Yoga became a door to growth and possibility.
Before moving to Asheville in 2011, Sylvia was a voice and piano teacher in Minneapolis, MN.
Mature Strength (50+, Beginners Welcome)

Geared toward people over 50 who want to do yoga and would like to pay special attention to becoming stronger, this ‘strong’ class offers insight into how yoga builds a strong body. Within a gentle asana practice, options are considered and explored that focus on increasing strength and on appreciating our muscular bodies. The theme is strength within a class that includes flexibility and movement all coordinated with breath!
