Michael’s classes
Vinyasa Flow (L1&2)
Tuesdays from 12:00 to 1:00 pm and Thursdays 9:30 to 10:45 am
Warm Vinyasa Flow (No Beginners Please)
Mondays 6:00 to 7:30 pm; Wednesdays 6:00 to 7:30 pm; Fridays 12:00 to 1:15 pm
Michael’s flow classes are a combination of strength, balance, focus, sensitivity and humor, with the breath being the main event of the class. Starting each class by warming up the body and heart with sun salutations, we then work our way through standing and balancing poses. By this time, our bodies are beginning to feel tenderized and ready to receive our true wisdom. Moving right along, we take hip openers and inversions, boat pose is a must, then spinal twists, and finishing with the most important pose of all, (savasana) corpse pose or relaxation pose. This class is like a mini retreat, bringing our body back to its true wisdom with a gift to share with others. (PLEASE ARRIVE 15 MINUTES EARLY AND BRING TOWEL)
Gentle Flow (All Levels, Beginners Welcome)
Wednesdays from 9:30 to 10:45 am
It’s short and sweet. Gentle yoga poses. Giving your body a chance to truly feel energized and relaxed.
Here’s what his students have to say:
“Its a practice of giving meaningful purpose to the movements within each pose. You have a theme running through the practice that changes weekly but all of them leading to love of ourselves and others in the end.”
“Quieting and integration of body, mind and spirit; and connecting with self and community.”
“I come to the center not just for yoga, but to better connect with myself and thus in turn with others. I love the way you guide us through the various gentle flow of yoga poses, but I really, really like the spiritual guidance you provide when you are sharing thoughts and realizations for us to use, or not. To hear those thoughts while in a yoga pose or quietly sitting and breathing brings so much more meaning to me than if I were to read them in a book. For this reason, I find myself looking forward to Wednesday and this class. I leave calm and ready to face anything with patience and humor, while at the same time leaving with new ideas to give further thought. Yoga is good, too! Even though it is a gentle class, I can tell I am beginning to tone muscles and become more flexible every week.”
