Kelly took her first yoga class many years ago, but didn’t get “hooked” until the summer of 2018. Once she discovered how much yoga helped her physical, emotional, and mental states, she knew she wanted to share that feeling with everyone! Kelly completed her 250 hour teacher training at Asheville Community Yoga in June of 2019, and is happy to now have the opportunity to share her love of yoga with others. Outside of the yoga world, Kelly is also a certified teacher, currently at Oakley Elementary.
Her long teaching career encompassed homeschooling, founding a private school (The New Classical Academy), and teaching public school in elementary, middle and high school. After so many years of teaching academics, Kelly is thrilled to be bringing her teaching to the yoga mat. Kelly and her husband raised three kids here in Asheville, and when she’s not teaching she loves kayaking, the beach, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Kelly’s Class:
Kids Yoga! (Ages 4 to 12)
Tuesdays from 4:00 to 4:45 pm
After a long day at school, kids need a chance to get physical but also to become calm and centered. This class offers both, with a short beginning centering and then a vigorous flow class. The poses are fun and playful, but the goal is serious. In this age of technology, kids need a way to center themselves, and this class will give them the opportunity to learn how to use yoga on and off the mat.
Vinyasa Flow (L1&2)
Saturdays from 1:30 to 2:30 pm
Join me for an hour as we rediscover joy on the yoga mat. This flow class will offer breath, movement, balance, challenge, humor and most of all, fun! Bring nothing but yourself, and the desire to truly enjoy an hour all for you.
