Katie began her journey in the desert sands of New Mexico taking a yoga class to fill credit hours in the Spring of 2009 at the University of New Mexico. Becoming instantly hooked, she continued her practice checking out various studios around Albuquerque, primarily HOT Vinyasa Flow. Eventually heading to the Low Country in search of a studio to begin teacher training in October 2011, she found Savannah Yoga Center in the first week of moving to Savannah, GA. The studio became a staple to her daily routine and graduated from the 200 hour Summer Intensive YTT program in 2012.
Moving out to the Redwood Curtain of Humboldt County, California she continued her education with a certification in the Subtle Art and Science of Yin Yoga. Taking continuing education courses; Fascial Health in Asana and Fitness, Sustainable and Safe Adaptations of Yoga for Everybody and Ashtanga Immersion through OmShala Yoga Studio. Finding heart opening, strength and alignment of Anusara Yoga with teachers Liz Heffernan and Peggy Profant. As well as having the privilege to work with Sam Akers and her Therayoga Method and Tune Up balls, Katie began to develop a greater awareness for developing a practice accessible for all.
