As part of recovering from years of bookkeeping (and only teaching yoga as a hobby) Jean Marie entered the world of mind-body medicine earning teaching certificates as a 500 HR Kripalu yoga teacher and as a certified cardiac yoga teacher at the Satchidananda Ashram. As her version of post graduate work, she received certification from The Academy for Guided Imagery and The Muscular Therapy Institute and became a Reiki Master. In these extensive multi-year trainings she developed her passion for psychoneuroimmunology, neuroscience, anatomy, physiology and energetic healing.
After years of working in hospital settings, her focus of enhancing somatic awareness and consciousness embodiment has shifted to working with individuals taking up the leadership of their lives. She teaches Yoga Nidra as a process called Engaging Your Wholeness and a gentle somatic yoga pelvic floor process for women transitioning into peri-menopause and menopause. Jean Marie’s Class:
Yoga Nidra (All Levels, Beginners Welcome)
Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 pm
As a comprehensive practice of unification, Yoga Nidra has the potential to enhance your mind-body connection, awaken heart coherence, balance your sympathetic and para-sympathetic nervous systems and integrate your brain while bringing you into the deeper theta state of consciousness and perhaps, through the threshold to your super consciousness.
During class, lying in Shavasana, you will be guided into deep states of relaxation where the innate intelligence of the body can catalyze accelerated transformation of tension, stress, and body armoring leaving you with an overall sense of peace and well being. Class will begin with subtle movements (lying down) to awaken the cerebrospinal-spinal fluid and will end with simple brain integration movements that can also be done in a chair.
As one of the esoteric practices of yoga, Yoga Nidra has the power to cleanse and re-integrate our MayaKosha’s (energy sheaths) disrupting the influence of deeply seated experiences that subconsciously direct our mental and emotional behaviors and choices. While Yoga Nidra has the potential to improve overall health and wellness, its true gift is guiding you to awaken your mind-body-spirit connection and perhaps, re-connecting you to the original blueprint of your spirit.
