I have ten years of experience working with children in the US and internationally (Japan, Ireland, and Kenya) within formal and non-formal educational settings. Originally from South Carolina, I obtained a B.A. in Psychology and Neuroscience from USC with a focus on child development, social-emotional interventions, and special educational needs. I recently completed an MSc in the Psychology of Childhood Adversity at Queen’s University Belfast with a focus on trauma-informed education, refugee integration, and the promotion of empathy in educational settings.
I love to cultivate environments in which children can explore the world around them, form healthy relationships, and learn to know and trust themselves—teaching children yoga and meditation is a unique way to cultivate such environments. I have completed 200hr YTT course here in Asheville along with additional classes for teaching yoga and mindfulness to children and teens. I am excited to start teaching children’s yoga at ACY and look forward to meeting you!
Kids Yoga (Ages 7 to 10)
Tuesdays from 4:15 to 4:45 pm
In this class we will learn asana, create poses, and practice breathing and mindfulness techniques—all while laughing, learning, and exploring together. Principals of respect, compassion, and kindness towards oneself, others, and the environment will be weaved through each class. Children will be encouraged to find their own passions in yoga and have opportunities to share their interests with the class. First-timers and long-time yoga lovers are all welcome!
