My asana practice began in the summer of 2012 in the fast-paced New York City Yoga scene. I moved back to Florida to finish college with a mat, some yoga DVDs and my best attempts to cultivate the strength and awareness I had discovered in my body. My self-talk while practicing showed itself to me, allowing me to uncover the stories I had spent my whole life telling myself about who I was and where I was going. It was from there that the real practice began of shifting and unfolding the narrative to fit the magnificent, life and love-filled beings that I have come to know we all are.
Through this discovery of love and human connection, my faith and devotion to the path of Yoga as a way of life, has deepened. I completed my first 200 hr. Yoga Teacher Training at Wise Living Yoga Academy in Doi Saket, Thailand while backpacking around Asia in 2015. After moving to Asheville in 2016, I stumbled into Asheville Community Yoga and have been gifted ever since with the deep sense of community, love and connection. After participating in their immersion program, and later their 250 hr. Teacher Training I can honestly say my life has been forever changed, and my capactity for joy and love have deepened. I hope to share my love for life and for self while we move our bodies and deepen our breaths, all while finding softness in our strength.
Vinyasa Flow (L1&2)
Wednesdays from 8:00-9:00 am
In this morning vinyasa flow, we will explore ways to partner movement with breath while slowly warming and waking our bodies. This physical practice will aim to inspire tuning into the body, mind and spirit. We will move towards joyful thoughts and empowerment within our bodies, all while building heat and increasing movement. You can plan to enter this practice gently grounded, and leave feeling into the strength of the body and softness of the heart. We’ll close out class together in various meditation techniques, relaxing savasanas and good thoughts for the day that lies ahead.
