Hello Asheville yoga community! I discovered yoga in January of 2012 when I was in college and working two part time jobs. My life was chaotic and stressful. Peace was not in my vocabulary. I joined a local yoga class because there was a Groupon for 30 days for $30 and it sounded interesting enough. The first class I ever took changed my life forever. I thought yoga was easy. Surprisingly, I worked up a sweat while moving my body in ways I had never seen or imagined. I felt muscles and ligaments I didn’t know I had. I had somehow managed, in a one hour time period, to feel physically, emotionally and (newly) spiritually fulfilled. I was hooked.
I have practiced yoga nearly every day since that first class – through multiple yoga teacher trainings, living at an ashram as a full-time volunteer, getting married, moving to Asheville and even during the labor of birthing two precious baby boys at home. Yoga has been an anchor of wellness… a reminder that life is divine, beautiful and perfect through all of the dramatically magical ups and downs.
I intend to be an anchor of presence during my classes; I learned through my time at the ashram that you don’t teach what you know… you teach who you are. My teaching is an expression of the wisdom I gain through life experiences. Join me!
Brandi’s Class:
Vinyasa Flow (L 1 & 2)
Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30 pm
This Vinyasa class is an intuitive flow designed to work the muscles, focus the mind and heal the spirit. It will start with a meditative, slow flow warm up and progress into a faster paced practice with longer holds in standing poses. We will play with balance poses, move through to back bends, gentle stretches and a long, meditative rest. This class is intended to be fun and energetic while challenging your body to reach new levels of strength and stamina. Join me for the adventure!
