Anne is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan where she studied Kinesiology (the study of the human body and movement). Besides teaching yoga, Anne is an ACSM certified personal trainer and is currently working toward her 500 hour yoga credential at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Anne finds true joy in helping others feel good, whether that be through movement, one-on-one coaching, or educating students on self-care practices.
Her favorite part about teaching yoga (besides being able to wear yoga pants to work and nerd-out about anatomy) is connecting with individuals who attend her class and planning thoughtful sequences that inspire physical, emotional, and spiritual growth in her students. Anne is also a Healing Arts provider at ACY.
Anne’s alignment-based mindful flow classes are informed by her background in kinesiology, her life experiences, and her daily yoga and meditation practice. She believes that by focusing on aligning the body in a way that supports its structures, one can find alignment in other areas of life. Anne’s philosophy of yoga, and physical exercise in general, is that it is incredibly rewarding and life-enhancing when approached in a balanced way. Thus, in a class with Anne, you can expect to experience both challenge AND ease, strength AND relaxation, in the hopes that you can find this balance in life off of the mat as well.

Slow Power Flow (L 1 & 2)
Sundays from 4:15 to 5:15 pm
Breathe, relax, feel, and flow. In this class, return to your center and release what is no longer serving you through creative sequences and cuing aimed at helping you experience a moving meditation. This class will begin with a short centering and breathing practice, followed by a fluid and grounding warm-up sequence to prepare the body for stronger postures and movements done during the peak of the class. There will be many modifications and variations offered throughout the hour to allow you a choice for the level of challenge you are looking for, and to accommodate your body’s needs each day. Come to this class to rejuvenate your mind, body & spirit through slow, strong, and mindful movement with your breath!
