Adam is originally from Huntsville, AL where he worked for NASA as a poster designer and for the Missile Defense Agency as – well, he can’t really share what he did! In the gaunt offices of various Departments of Defense, he discovered his ability to meditate by zoning out to pass time, and his love for yoga by closing his office door and stretching. He also developed a fascination with digital painting while spending many hours privately working on art. Adam has a background in painting, drawing, sculpting, printmaking, and design/theory. Adam uses a Wacom tablet – which is basically a big flat piece of plastic that picks up on every movement, pressure, and angle of the drawing stylus. Everything is digitally illustrated and hand (stylus) drawn. Photography is only used as reference material, just as a traditional painter would. Adam’s influences include: Hieronymous Bosch, da Vinci, William Blake, Egon Schiele, Klimt, Mucha, Zdzislaw Beksinski, H.R. Giger.
Please check out Adam’s phenomenal work through February 8th. He is donating 40% of the proceeds of sales to Asheville Community Yoga.
