Haywood St. Congregation is a faith-based, non-profit community dedicated to serving the local homeless population. Their mission affirms the sacred worth of all – the houseless and housed, sober and intoxicated, illiterate and educated, lost and found – by offering a variety of different programs including free community meals (Downtown Welcome Table), community gardens (Haywood Street Gardens), a clothing closet, weekly worship, and Haywood Street Respite which offers a safe place for homeless folks to stay for a short period of time after being released from the hospital.
