For years Ruth struggled with feeling comfortable in her own body. After turning to yoga as a means to lose weight and tone, she discovered that far more was happening on her mat than physical exercise. For Ruth, yoga has been a journey toward healing, self-acceptance, surrender and empowerment. Now a teacher herself, Ruth’s mission is to help guide all her students toward finding purpose in their bodies and peace within their hearts
Ruth is a vinyasa flow yoga teacher who emphasizes finding ease in movement. She has been practicing for over five years and teaching since 2013. Ruth is a RYT 200-hour teacher registered with Yoga Alliance; she received her training at Yoga South in Boca Raton, Florida under James Kigar and Judy Weaver. She also completed a 200-hour training in Sivananda-style yoga. Ruth pulls inspiration from anusara, kripalu, Baptist, and ashtanga styles of yoga. She instructed full-time for two years and has gained diverse experience teaching to all levels, including in studios, spas, and offices, as well as with veterans and people recovering from addiction in treatment centers. She has the unique ability to reach each student in her class, and her style, like her personality, is warm, nurturing, funny and compassionate.

Ruth’s classes

Gentle Flow (All Levels, Beginners Welcome)

Mondays from 5:15 to 6:15  pm

Unwind with this softer, nurturing, well supported, and relaxing practice of gentle yoga.  This class will move slowly and give students a chance to breath deeply into each pose.  Perfect as you transition from work to home, this class is accessible to all levels.

Vinyasa Flow (L1&2)

Wednesdays from 4:00 to 5:00 pm 

In this one hour vinyasa flow class we will deepen our breath, still our minds, and get present to move our bodies into shapes to hopefully bring some stillness into our hearts and lives. Expect to be challenged physically and taken to your edge so when you leave you will feel relaxed and energized.

Warm Vinyasa Flow (L1&2)

Thursdays from 8:15 to 9:15  pm 

Join Ruth for an hour of moving and breathing with intention and consciousness.  Expect to be challenged and taken to your edge, with some Ashtanga and Kripalu style influences.  Class will warm up with sun salutations, expect plenty of balance poses and you will be sure to get rewarded with a nice long savasana at the end of class.  In this class you will be invited to not take yourself too seriously, and play yoga with a sense of fun and curiosity.
