Katie began her yoga practice nearly a decade ago while living in the North End of Boston. Yoga served as a retreat from the busy city, and soon blossomed into a lifestyle as she experienced the transformative impact her practice offered. While pursuing a degree as a clinical Social Worker, Katie complete a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction teacher training in Southern Spain, and Yoga as Therapy teacher training at her home studio in Boston.Blending her yoga practice and clinical work has been a blessing, reinforced by the rejuvenating impact is has had on her clients. Finishing her Masters in Social Work from Boston College, Katie relocated to Asheville and began working as a Wilderness Therapist, while also completing her 200-hour Teacher Training at Asheville Yoga Center. Trading the city skyline for the Blue Ridge Mountains has offered a nourishing and exciting new chapter, while yoga continues to be her base no matter where life takes her.
Gentle Flow, All Levels
Tuesdays from 12:15 to 1:15 pm
In this Gentle Flow, we will blend a focus on the breath with flowing movement to expand your awareness and calm the nervous system. Mindful awareness will serve as our base as we move our bodies into gentle and nourishing postures. Class will close with a guided meditation that is accessible for beginners and seasoned yogis.
