Katie first found yoga from a fitness perspective looking for physical healing from horseback riding accidents. Then, over time, yoga found her and brought her “home” on her mat through continued soul healing. She felt called to move her personal practice into an offering for others and completed her teacher training at Asheville Community Yoga while pregnant with her son. Her professional experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker allows her to offer trauma informed yoga with a mindful perspective focusing on creating energetic balance and finding mind, body, and spirit connection through physical asanas and attention to breath.
She finds joy being a mom to her son, tending the earth in her garden, exploring the natural world, and spending time with friends and family. Her creative and artistic spirit provides hobbies she enjoys including pottery, photography, playing violin, sewing, and crafts and also brings laughter and fun to her world. She enjoys spending time in community and is honored to share space on yoga mats with you!
Mindful Flow (All Levels)
Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8:30 pm
A blend of flow and mindful meditation, this class encourages awareness of the experience of your mind, body, and soul by blending salutations, gentle vinyasas, seated and standing postures, and balance postures. Grounding exercises and intentional breathing are included to increase our awareness and are woven throughout the class creating an ebb and flow of warmth, movement, and rest. This class will offer an opportunity for beginners and advanced practitioners alike to further develop and deepen your practice while supporting your emotional and spiritual well being. Each class will end with savasana to allow the nervous system to settle and integrate all the goodness and energy created during the class. Think of this class as a compassionate flow that meets mantra and meditation to tend to the spirit and hearten the soul. Your physical body will thank you too!
