Jessie has a deep love and respect for yoga. She believes it works beyond mere movement and has the ability to bring us to a space where we can observe, accept, love, and nurture ourselves. She has been a practitioner of yoga for over ten years and a teacher for more than five. She received her 200-hour teacher certification from Shoshoni Ashram outside of Boulder, CO after completing a one month immersion course. She has also completed further training with Shoshoni in adjustments, yoga therapy, and meditation instruction. Jessie currently works as a massage therapist at Unity Healing Arts and likes to draw from her knowledge of bodywork to give gentle adjustments to willing students. She hopes every student leaves her class with a firmer grounding in themselves and a confidence to continue to meet life’s challenges and grow.
Yin Yoga, Tuesdays from 4 to 5:15 pm (All Levels, Beginners Welcome)
Yin yoga is a beautiful practice that helps balance the yang elements of our lives. Yin asks us to resolve to be still – holding each reclined or seated pose anywhere from 3 to 10 minutes. Each pose becomes a mini meditation where we observe the power of our breath to create space in our bodies and release deep tensions from within. There will be pose variations and multiple props available to support you and ensure safety as we reach the deeper connective tissues of the body and create lasting opening.
