QiGong: The Eight Brocades with Allen

Thursdays, August 3rd – 24th

6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

During this series of classes, I will be teaching The Eight Brocades, also known as the Eight Pieces of Silk.    This is one of the oldest and most popular forms of QiGong.

It is said that Boddhidharma traveled from India into China in the 6th Century.   He came upon a Shaolin Temple where he encountered enlightened Monks who were suffering from weak and frail bodies.    Before he continued his travels he taught them the exercise system of Qi (Life Force) Gong (Practice)   QiGong became the foundation for Tai Chi and Shaolin Gung Fu.

Practicing the gentle movements of QiGong stimulates the energy gates of the body (Acupuncture Points) and increases the Qi energy through the Meridians making QiGong one of the components of Chinese Medicine.

The graceful movements coordinate body and mind  creating a moving meditation that provides calmness and centering, allowing the practitioner to direct the energy to improve any aspect of life that you choose.
