The Three-Step Dance of Realization
Friday, June 8th, 6-8pm with Douglas Leenhof
The Biggest Spiritual Question of them All: How Do You Turn Concept into Realization?
We all know that study, memorization, and filling our library shelves is not enough. What is the key for making all the words come alive as experience?
New discoveries in neuroscience reveal that we co-create the universe of our perceptions and that what we create depends on which hemisphere of the brain is paying attention. Creativity, empathy, new insights, and the feeling of a living experience all depend on a three-step dance between the hemispheres. But according to a provocative new theory, the very design of modern life keeps us stuck at the second step where our own lives are an abstraction to us.
This is not the first time in history this has happened, and, remarkably, the three thousand year old practice of meditation may be one of the best tools ever developed to discover the rest of the dance.
Join author and long-time meditation teacher Douglas Veenhof for an accessible exploration of the science of meditation…as well as the dangers of taking mind-science too seriously.
