Classes

So you’re ready to take a yoga class? Here are a few things to know before choosing your class and arriving at Asheville Community Yoga.

  • Please arrive 15 minutes early and sign in. Doors will be closed 10 minutes after class starts.
  • Bring a towel and a water bottle. We provide yoga mats, blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets.
  • Avoid parking in the paved lot next to the building. We have several additional lots available for student use.

Understanding Class Levels

Beginner & Level 1: Students of all levels will find these classes accessible. If you are trying yoga for the very first time or consider yourself fairly new to yoga, these classes will provide an easy pace and detailed instruction for learning and exploring the basics. Although more challenging poses and sequences may be offered at times, modifications will be given to make the practice accessible to everyone.

Level 1 & 2: These classes are designed for students who have a foundational understanding of common yoga postures. Classes are moderate to fast-paced and intermediate to advanced postures are offered, with modifications. Students are invited to explore their edge and also honor limitation, modifying postures accordingly to progress safely.
